Paintnetz Paint Strainer
PaintNetz

Fast, Easy Paint Straining

PaintNetz are a quick and easy alternative to a sieve (Or a pair of tights!).
They are paint strainers / filters which grip to the container you are using and allow easy removal once done. They are available to fit anything from smaller 1L kettles right up to 25L scuttles.

Features at a Glance:

  • Elastic grip
  • Two mesh choices for both thick and thin paints
  • Four different sizes to fit all containers
  • Washable and re-usable again and again
  • Leaves hands free to prevent spillages
  • Enough give in the elastic to fit many containers whilst still being firm enough to hold the paint

I used the 1L Paint Strainer Medium – Fine (black coloured mesh). Although it says for a 1L paint kettle, I used it with the Wagner 1300ml Click and Spray paint holder and it still held perfectly. I usually use a plastic sieve for this, which I balance on the top and hope it doesn’t tip whilst the paint is poured. With the PaintNetz, there is no such worry. It grips the container well, leaving both hands to pour the paint with confidence. I was straining emulsion paint and it made the job faster and simpler.
The PaintNetz slipped off easily after use and took 2 minutes to rinse under the tap, ready for next time. I’m converted!

Medium-Fine mesh filter is BLACK
Extra Fine mesh filter is WHITE

Sizes available are 1L, 2.5L, 15L and 25L

Whitson's Superior Adhesion Primer

BEST PRIMER FOR KITCHEN CUPBOARDS

Made for painting over surfaces that are usually difficult to adhere to, for example varnished timber, tiles, pre-painted cupboards and melamine. Can be overcoated with any standard paint.

Features at a Glance:

  • Water Based
  • For a variety of surfaces
  • Doesn’t have a strong smell
  • Applies smoothly and evenly
  • Dries quickly
  • Used by professionals

I tried this primer on a small area in a 1930’s house. The timber had been stained and painted previously. I sanded down what I could, but the finish still looked patchy in places. I immediately thought of Whitson’s Superior Adhesion Primer as I had read lots of good things from other users in different decorating forums.
It went on like a dream! I really wasn’t expecting it as most primers for this purpose are awkward to use. After just one coat, the surface looked much more even. I applied another coat a few hours later and it just got better. I was confident it was now ready for the finishing coats of paint.
Compared to my usual primer, this has all the benefits and more. The main one to me being how evenly it applies. No brush marks are left and the drying time is just right. I’m converted for sure.

Bear in mind this product isn’t intended for sealing knots or stain blocking.

Whitson’s Super Adhesion Primer is available to order online at a number of different stores including mypaintbrush.co.uk and walleffects.co.uk, starting at just £19.99.
